Bonnetière with a single door – Polychrome solid oak

Single-door oak bonnetière, Louis XV period, 18th century, featuring an old polychromy with successive layers in shades of blue, pink, celadon green, and ochre yellow. The façade is adorned with solid wood carved panels with characteristic Louis XV style scroll mouldings and consoles, enhanced by turned blackened wood spindles on the door post. The upper cornice is heavily overhanging and moulded, framed by a transom with a relief grid pattern painted in yellow. The inner face of the door retains its natural unpainted carved wood panels. The interior, in raw natural oak, is to be fitted out according to use: wardrobe or shelves. Brass fittings. The whole shows a patinated wear with scales and cracks, testament to several centuries of use (recent patina). Dimensions: H. 210 cm × W. 88 cm – Weight: 80 kg.
