The ceramic base is an original vase from the Lotus series produced in 1977, during an important period in Dutch ceramics. Finished in a soft matte blue cornflower shade, the glaze has a velvety depth that is neither too light nor too dark. The upper body is adorned with a hand-painted white abstract frieze, giving it a modern and graphic character. The lampshade is made from a dense floral Liberty London fabric with a small printed pattern on satin cotton, adding softness and visual richness. The custom brass collar ensures a refined transition between the base and the lampshade, while the braided blue cord enhances the colour harmony. The original vase has been transformed using non-invasive methods, preserving its integrity as a collectible item.
