Alvar Aalto Paimio No. 41 lounge chair for Artek, 1931

Great masterpiece by Finnish designer Alvar Aalto, who designed this chair in 1931/32 for the interior of a tuberculosis sanatorium in the Finnish city of Paimio, hence its name. This piece is probably from the late 1980s. The frame is made of bent laminated birch, and the seat is in white lacquered plywood. It is in solid, good vintage condition with some signs of use, such as some wear on the seat (see all images for a good impression).
