Armchairs model 401& 402 by Alvar Aalto for Artek 1940

Early pair of lounge chairs, model 401 + 402, designed by alvar aalto in 1933. These chairs were purchased in the 1940s and manufactured by artek. They are reupholstered with a nice de ploeg landscape fabric in ocher/cream (73% wool, 27% polyethyleen). Also the foam is renewed. The frames are made of bent laminated birch wood. Classic modernist chairs. The chairs are in good condition. Some traces of use on the frames.
