It is a cult object of vintage design that immediately attracts attention: the globe, or world map, crosses the eras without a wrinkle and always exerts the same power of attraction. The proposed model was published in the 50s by the famous house girard barrère and thomas, and mapped by the no less famous french geographer joseph forest. It is after 1948, the date of birth of the state of israel, and before 1960, the year in which the belgian congo regained its independence. The world map consists of a traditional globe made of two half-spheres assembled and covered with "slices" of paper attached to each other to form the map of the world, and a metal and turned wood support that is rarely seen and which gives the object an old and refined look close to the art deco style. Its small format makes it an ideal decorative object to be placed on a shallow shelf or desk. This world map is offered to you in its juice. It has lived well and shows many signs of wear: yellowed paper, erased inscriptions, traces of ballpoint pen and annotation in pencil give the globe a unique patina and testify to its rich history. The support is in good general condition and has a light patina consistent with its age. Diameter of the sphere: 20 cm. Globe diameter: 15 cm.
