French work, 1960s. D 45 cm — height adjustable up to 100 cm. Saddle leather and brass. As is. A glass disc encircled with brass, covered in saddle leather stitched with coloured thread, suspended by a strap that passes through a visible loop and descends along the wall. Director of the Compagnie des Arts Français from 1928 to 1959, Jacques Adnet developed from the 1950s a whole vocabulary of metal covered in stitched leather, crafted with the Hermès workshops: side tables, lamps, magazine racks, mirrors. Attribution remains to be confirmed. The leather shows the patina of its age; the piece is sold as is.
