Very beautiful circular mirror designed around 1940 by Jacques Adnet, the famous French designer and architect. The central glass is framed with cream leather, quilted in a saddle style, held by a matching leather strap with brass buckles, allowing it to be elegantly hung on the wall. Fully restored, this original documented model perfectly illustrates Adnet's innovation, a pioneer in the combination of metal, glass, and leather in furniture and interior accessories. Elegant and refined, it embodies the French Art Deco style and remains a rare piece sought after by collectors. Jacques Adnet (1900–1984) was a French designer and interior architect known for his elegant and modernist style. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and from the beginning, he was interested in modernism, a movement that rejected the excessive ornamentation of Art Nouveau and advocated for simple, functional lines. In the 1920s, he founded a company with his twin brother, Jean Adnet, where they created furniture using simple geometric shapes and high-quality materials. In 1928, he was appointed director of the Compagnie des Arts Français (CAF), allowing the institution to adopt a contemporary approach. His creations blend industrial materials, such as glass and metal, with simple, clean lines. In the 1950s, by collaborating with the luxury house Hermès, he reaffirmed his status as a pioneer of refined French design in the 20th century.
