Small side table, in solid fir (larch), early 18th century. Concerning its origin and original use, we have 2 hypotheses: it could be a table from the alps (savoie or switzerland), this type of furniture was sometimes part of the furniture of alpine chalets. But it could also come from the spanish pyrenees and have been used as a money changer's table or on market stalls, we also find this type of table in these regions, intended for this use. Wood breathes..., but does not speak, so we can only put forward the most likely hypotheses, but whatever it may be, it is a remarkable work of popular art from the mountain pastures, very well preserved with a beautiful patina (original wood color), and usable as is. Assemblies made by tenons, mortises and dovetails. Top fixed with beautiful large forged nails. A drawer on the front sliding on both sides. (the green felt is later and can be removed without difficulty), with ornamental carved front band on the front. Original ironwork (drawer handles). Dimensions width 69 cm, height 54 cm, depth 45 cm. Can be sent by colissimo.
