1950s Japanese series sofa by Cees Braakman for Pastoe, the Netherlands

A wonderful 3-seater sofa from the Japanese series, designed by Cees Braakman and manufactured by Pastoe in the Netherlands around 1950. This beautiful piece features a high-quality black lacquered metal base in thin, rectangular shapes. It is newly upholstered in beautiful grey fabric, perfectly fitting the design, and has upholstered armrests for additional style and comfort. A minimalist and modern piece that is a real statement of mid-century Dutch design. The sofa remains in very good, vintage condition with new upholstery and only minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
