This wonderful glazed ceramic teapot comes, according to the label underneath, from the pottery workshop "Bleu d’Enfer" in Lamoura in the Jura. It is a very beautiful piece of craftsmanship by Raymond Guibert, who worked in his pottery workshop with his wife for nearly 40 years, until 2014. Since he retired as a potter, the "Bleu d’Enfer" pottery has become an art gallery where Raymond Guibert exhibits his works (which are also wonderful!). A native of Puisaye, he continued to work with Puisaye stoneware in his workshop in the Jura. This teapot has lovely shapes, harmonious and rounded, but it especially features a very beautiful glaze, blending chocolate, khaki beige, bluish grey leaning towards green, and a milky grey with black touches that remind me of the glazing on certain pieces by Atch (Chantal and Thierry Robert). And just a touch of blue on the spout, as a nod to the name of his workshop, Bleu d’Enfer. It is not signed in the material but does have a label indicating its origin (I promised you some information, here it is, from Mr Guibert himself: he confirms that he indeed made this teapot in the 1990s-2000s, and the label was affixed to pieces that, technically, did not allow for a stamp in the material to remain clearly visible after glazing and firing). It is in perfect condition, with no cracks, chips, or even a nick. It measures 20.5 cm from the spout to the handle, approximately 15 cm at its widest diameter, and 9 cm in maximum height (at the handle).
