Adjustable Swedish floor lamp, circa 1950–60.

Elegant Swedish floor lamp from the 1950s–60s featuring a sculptural turned wood body, brass elements, and a very lightweight black metal tripod base finished with brass balls. The flexible brass gooseneck allows for light direction. The conical parchment-style shade diffuses a soft and warm light. The particularly expressive work of the turned wood gives this lamp an unusual decorative character while maintaining the lightness typical of Scandinavian design from this period. The construction and formal vocabulary recall certain creations by Hans Bergström and Ateljé Lyktan, but as no manufacturer's mark has been identified, the floor lamp is offered as Swedish work, designer unidentified. Good vintage condition, with patina and signs of use consistent with age on the brass, wood, and shade.
