Antique biscuit jar/sweet jar, cobalt blue glass and silver-plated metal, early 20th century.

Charming bonbonnière, or biscuit jar, antique, made of blown glass, in deep cobalt blue, from the early 20th century, in an Art Nouveau style. The body has a simple and generous shape, topped with a silver-plated metal rim and lid, probably tin, decorated with moulded stylised floral patterns, featuring an elegantly crafted movable handle. The glass shows fine manufacturing bubbles, visible and natural as it is handmade glassware. The lid is simply placed, without a locking mechanism. Height 21.5cm with lid, 15.5cm without, diameter 13cm. In good overall condition considering its age, with numerous superficial scratches from use on the glass, more or less visible, as well as some slight signs of wear on the metal mount, very slight deformation of the base of the lid, no chips or cracks. Weighs approximately 700-800g.
