The shaped top is adorned with floral marquetry in fruitwood, framed by geometric inlays. The curved legs, hooves, and brass corner strips highlight the characteristic decorative taste of Second Empire furniture, marked by the reinterpretation of Louis XV forms. The balanced proportions and the contained richness of the decor make it a piece that is both functional and ornamental, typical of tables known as "work tables" intended for women's crafts.
