Work table in Louis XV / Napoléon III style, made in the 20th century. It opens with a flap revealing a compartmentalised interior with five sections and a mirror integrated into the lid. The shaped top is adorned with floral marquetry in fruitwood, framed by geometric inlays. The curved legs, hooves, and brass corner strips highlight the characteristic decorative taste of Second Empire furniture, marked by the reinterpretation of Louis XV forms. The balanced proportions and the contained richness of the decor make it a piece of furniture that is both functional and ornamental, typical of the so-called "work tables" intended for women's crafts.
