Charming jug with two handles in polychrome majolica, a splendid example of popular and rural art from Southern Italy (Apulia / Basilicata), dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Characterised by its typical trilobed neck and decorated with quick brush strokes in cobalt blue and ochre yellow on a cream background, this jug embodies the authentic spirit of Mediterranean ceramics. The object features a solid and rustic structure, entirely handmade on a potter's wheel. The raw base and slight asymmetries testify to its artisanal and non-industrial production. The minor losses of glaze, consistent with its age and historical use, are not defects but traces of time that enhance its charm and guarantee its originality as an antique piece. A piece of great character, ideal for rustic interiors or to bring a Mediterranean touch to a contemporary space.
