Suspended lamp model KD6 space age from the mid-century by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni for Kartell, 1960s.

Large suspension by the Italian manufacturer Kartell based on a design by Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni from 1959. Here in a very rare version with a yellow umbrella. The lamp is formally composed of two parts: the metal frame element and the translucent methacrylate umbrella elements. This combination of materials is particularly special here. The classic material of nickel-plated steel and the then cutting-edge methacrylate. A contrast of colour and materiality. The metal as a supporting element only appears at the top of the lamp. The parts of the lampshade are removable. The lamp is surrounded by two white diffuser hats, which are positioned like a shining ball inside the large umbrella.
