Flat desk – Louis XIII style – Carved solid oak – 19th century

Flat desk in solid oak stained dark brown, in the Louis XIII style, probably made in the 19th century. The front features two drawers carved in high relief with floral motifs — tulips, leaves, and buds — equipped with sculpted wooden handles. The sides are adorned with a frieze of sinuous interlacing punctuated by flowers. The rectangular top is framed by a moulding of finely cut acanthus leaves. The structure rests on four barley twist legs, joined by an H-shaped stretcher with a turned central baluster topped with a decorative finial; the corner blocks are engraved with star-shaped rosettes, and the feet end in a ball. Restoration carried out by specialised workshops. Overall condition very good, warm and even patina. Sold without key (custom key available as an option for €50).
