Elegant Model 42 chair designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured by Schou Andersen in Denmark in the 1960s. The chair features a solid teak frame with beautifully pronounced grain and a newly upholstered seat and backrest in orange recycled wool. Overall dimensions: H: 73 cm W: 54 cm D: 57 cm Model 42 is one of Kai Kristiansen’s most recognizable designs, valued for its sculptural frame, balanced proportions, and distinctive pivoting backrest, which gently adjusts to the sitter’s posture. Its refined construction makes it suitable as a desk chair, dining chair, or accent chair in a living room, study, or bedroom. The chair has been professionally restored. The teak frame has been cleaned, refreshed, and protected with high-quality professional products. The seat foam has been replaced for improved comfort, while the new wool upholstery has been applied in keeping with the original upholstery method. The chair is in very good vintage condition.
