Price for a chair. Zaisu chair designed by Kenji Fujimori for Tendo Mokko in 1963. Designed for traditional Japanese interiors, this low seat is characterised by a continuous line formed from a single piece of bent wood. Made from beech or zelkova veneer depending on the examples, it illustrates the technical expertise developed by Tendo Mokko in the work of bent wood during the post-war period. The slightly inclined backrest ensures natural comfort. The circular opening in the seat allows for a cushion to be held in place. An iconic model of Japanese design from the 1960s, this Zaisu combines formal simplicity, visual lightness, and precision of manufacture. Cushions can be made to order for an additional charge, or the seat can be purchased alone. Several examples available, in different types of wood. Original Tendo Mokko label present on some pieces. Edition: Tendo Mokko, Japan, circa 1963.
