Price for lamp including shade. This extraordinary accent lamp has been upcycled from an original vase by Bay Keramik from the late 1960s. It is model 63-40, designed by Bodo Mans, one of the defining designers of West German pottery. His designs are characterised by their sculptural language, powerful reliefs, and expressive glazes, and are now appreciated by collectors worldwide. The 63 series is among Bodo Mans' most distinctive works. Particularly striking is the exciting contrast between the plastically relieved central part in light stoneware and the deep red areas at the neck and base. The relief medallions with floral ornaments evoke architectural facades or historical stone reliefs. Together with the geometric structures, they create a sculptural effect that is clearly influenced by the language of Brutalism – powerful, monumental, and at the same time exceptionally decorative. The handmade lampshade is covered with a high-quality Japanese cotton fabric. The elegant crane motif in black, cream, and red harmonises excellently with the red accents of the ceramic. The red decorative band echoes the glaze of the vase and connects the shade and base into a coherent overall picture. When illuminated, a warm, atmospheric light is created that particularly highlights the plastic structures of the ceramic. Dimensions: – Total height of the lamp: 73 cm. – Vase: 40 cm high. – Lampshade: 30 × 31 cm. Conversion to lamp. The original Bay Keramik vase has been carefully converted into a lamp. No drilling has been done, so the original condition of the ceramic and thus its collector's value remain intact. The construction is fully reversible. The lamp features a classic E27 socket. The cable is fed directly into the black socket from the back, so the ceramic remains unchanged.
