Antique decorative and commemorative plate in glazed ceramic, made by Villeroy & Boch. The centre features a delicate black view of the historic town hall of Heilbronn, identifiable by its famous astronomical clock. The scalloped edge is highlighted by a fine golden line. On the reverse, there is the green Villeroy & Boch mark, the mentions "Made in Germany" and "Saar", as well as the inscription: "Presented by Heinrich Taxis, G.m.b.H., Heilbronn – Bad Mergentheim." This inscription means that the plate was given as a gift by the company Heinrich Taxis. This company was likely the commissioner or donor of the item, while Villeroy & Boch is indeed the manufacturer. It is probably a corporate or representative gift produced in limited series, rather than a standard model of tableware. Cautious dating: first half or mid-20th century.
