Set of 4 Pégase chairs, designed by Pierre Gariche and produced by Baumann in the 1960s. An iconic model of post-war French design, Pégase is distinguished by its enveloping backrest with soft lines, its tapered solid wood legs, and its contrasting black seat. The whole offers a light, elegant, and perfectly balanced silhouette. The dialogue between the warmth of the wood and the sobriety of the black seat gives these chairs a timeless presence, equally at home in a modernist interior as in a Haussmannian or contemporary decor. Structure in solid wood. Original seats. Condition: very good overall vintage condition. Note: one chair has a crack with a small notch on the seat (visible in the photo). The other three are in excellent condition. The structure is perfectly stable. Sold as a set of 4.
