Antique Dressing Table in Brown Venered with Mahogany, 1860

Antique Dressing Table from around 1860, veneered with mahogany. The piece features turned legs, a liftable top, and an extended desktop inside. Beneath the desktop, there are two drawers, one with compartments padded with cloth. A mid-height shelf is also included. Once opened, the inner side of the desktop reveals narrow, fold-out shelves. This item's design resembles dressing tables used by men or women. This type of furniture, emerging in 17th-century England, was often crafted in the form of small tables or desks, featuring extended tops, compartments, and sometimes mirrors. The surface of this piece has been polished and repaired, showcasing its very good vintage condition. There are no defects, but slight traces of use may be visible.
