Mid-century desk or console, designed in the 1960s by Czech designer Mojmír Požár for the publisher UP Závody, an iconic figure in Central European modernist design. The piece is appealing with its simple and functional lines: a rectangular black top elegantly contrasting with the light wood structure, resting on four tapered legs finished in black. It features two side drawers with curved metal handles, as well as an open central niche, ideal for storage or everyday use. Its compact size allows for use as both a desk and a console in an entrance or living room. Some usage scratches are noted on the top, visible in low light, but they do not detract from its overall aesthetic. A representative piece of Czechoslovak design from the 60s, both practical and decorative. 120.5 X 44 X H75 cm.
