Marius Bessone vase

Superb large fat lava vase from the 1950s signed by Marius Bessone in polychrome earthenware. Marius Bessone (1929–2001) was a French ceramist from Vallauris, trained in industrial techniques for architecture and ceramic decoration. In 1954, he founded a workshop with his wife Huguette, where they created utilitarian pieces with geometric shapes and bright colours. Bessone is known for his volcanic effect glazes and crystallisations.
