We are delighted to offer for sale this original Victorian Knole sofa from around 1860-1880, fully restored, in oxblood red leather with cushions filled with duck feathers and down. This sofa was restored approximately 2-3 years ago from top to bottom, including the interiors of the cushions, the upholstery, and hand dyeing. The Knole sofa, which first appeared in the 17th century and is preserved at Knole House in Kent, was originally used as a formal throne. It features adjustable side arms, considerable seat depth, and exposed wooden trim covered in hand-dyed leather. A must-have piece for any collector of quality English furniture, expressing style, charisma, and impeccable taste. Dimensions: Height: 125.5 cm, Width: 197.5 cm, Depth: 84 cm, Seat Height: 50.5 cm. The condition is good with a refinished surface and wear consistent with age and use. It should be noted that antique leather pieces exhibit a natural patina with creases and wear. We recommend annual polishing to preserve moisture. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for the hand-dyed leather to prevent dryness and discolouration.
