The 'Optical' vase, designed by Jan Drost for the Ząbkowice Glassworks in the 1970s, is an example of Polish mid-century modern design that fully utilises the possibilities of pressed glass. The surface is glossy, and small air bubbles visible in the mass confirm the serial forming technique and authenticity of origin. The pressed glass material provides a distinct visual texture while being smooth to the touch.
