Pair of French armchairs dating from 1955-1960, attributed to designer Louis Paolozzi, collaborator of the Zol, Brandt, and occasionally Steiner houses. Possibility to form a suite of 4 armchairs (2nd pair currently for sale in my shop). These iconic pieces perfectly illustrate the French modernist line of the post-war period: elegance, comfort, and sculptural research. Armrests in "aeroplane wing" style, wide and enveloping. Trapezoidal seat. Backrest slightly flared upwards. Wood and foam structure from the period, typical of high-end French productions from the 1950s. Yellow velvet in very good condition, clean, bright, without snags (I would only note a very slight surface wear on the seat). Perfect stability. As is often the case with armchairs from the 1950s-1960s, the original foam shows natural fatigue perceptible to the touch (slight internal brittleness in the armrests). This is a classic phenomenon inherent to old upholstery. It does not affect the presentation or structure, but an internal refurbishment may be considered according to the comfort requirements of the buyer. Dimensions (each armchair): Backrest height: 79.5 cm. Seat height: approx. 39 cm. Wingspan: 75 cm. Depth: 76.5 cm.
