Painting Portrait of a soldier signed Vass E. and dated 1915

COD 11383. Antique Hungarian painting dated 1915. Oil on cardboard artwork depicting a portrait of a World War I soldier in uniform, of excellent pictorial quality. The painting is of beautiful size and proportion, adorned with a carved and gilded wood and plaster frame (bronze tint). The painting is signed lower left Vass E. (see photo), attributable to the Hungarian painter Elemer Vass (1887-1957), but lacks an authentication. Painting of great character, for antique dealers, interior decorators, and collectors of military portraits. The cardboard visible in the photo on the back of the painting was added over time to secure the work in the frame. The painting is in good condition. Internal dimensions: H 48.5 X W 39.5 cm.
