Box Bonbonnière Glass chicken - vintage chicken butter maker VERRERIE PORTIEUX

This beautiful candy or sugar bowl is made of glass. It depicts a hen on its nest in basketry. It comes from the glass and opaline factory in portieux. Dating back to the early 20th century, these pressed-moulded glass boxes were sold at popular fairs or markets. In two parts, there were small candies in the shape of eggs, dredges or chocolates... The details are precise, the feathers are well drawn, the eggs are visible under the wings, the head is turned and the tail is open. In good general condition, I report small shards at the edge. Dimensions: 18 X 13 cm. A lovely opaline to collect, offer or divert: sugar on your table, baguier or cotton pot in your bathroom...
