Meticulously handcrafted by the Amitābha studio from an iconic design by Charles Catteau, this Art Deco "Pineapple" vase from Boch Frères Keramis has been masterfully reinterpreted with a custom-made silk Ikat lampshade, blending Art Deco refinement with the vibrant narrative of Central Asian textile art. This Art Deco ceramic vase — commonly referred to as the pineapple vase — was produced by Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, Belgium, between 1920 and 1930. Designed by Charles Catteau, the vase features a repetitive geometric relief pattern moulded onto its ovoid shape and finished with a fine crackled ivory glaze. Known as Model 1118 in the Boch Frères catalogue, it reflects Catteau's Art Deco vocabulary: bold geometry, stylised natural references, and technical innovation in glazes. The crackled ivory relief of the ceramic base beautifully contrasts with the rich pattern of the handwoven and dyed Uzbek Ikat lampshade, embodying the pattern drenching movement — layers of bold textures and patterns that bring warmth, depth, and personal expression to residential interiors. Ideal for spaces that embrace a refined bohemian or luxurious maximalist aesthetic, this piece also serves as a striking light fixture and visual anchor. In homes where "more is more, " the fusion of the sculptural form and artisanal pattern of the lamp transforms everyday light into art. The stated height includes the lampshade.
