desk or small table in the Louis XIII / Henri II style, dating from the late 19th century. The main feature of the piece is its four legs, which are sculpted in turned baluster style (sometimes referred to as turned or bobbin legs). They rest on square connection blocks and are joined by a beautifully moulded H-shaped stretcher, adorned in the centre with a turned element resembling a spinning top. The front conceals a large single drawer, featuring a rich relief decoration depicting leafy scrolls, volutes, and a central rosette from which hang two forged iron rings or handles. The rectangular top has a moulded edge in a corbin beak or flat band style. The upper wood shows a light and natural patina, revealing the grain of the walnut.
