Geoffrey Harcourt, British armchair at Artifort

Geoffrey Harcourt (1935-2023) is a British designer whose work was entirely tied to the Dutch publisher Artifort. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in London, he joined the Eindhoven house in 1962 and signed there for more than forty years some thirty armchairs and sofas, where ergonomic research is combined with a refined modernist language. His 130, F590 Mickey Mouse Chair and Cleopatra models embody the know-how of the Dutch school in lounge seating, and equipped European interiors in the Seventies.
