Very pretty little antique jug from the late 19th and early 20th century, French craftsmanship in Puisaye stoneware, hand-turned. The neck and handle are ash-glazed, dark brown in colour, with drips at the back and drops at the front. The body is raw in natural brown and grey tones, simply glazed. It has a rounded body and a short trumpet-shaped neck with a short spout, and a nice fine handle at the top. Approximately 23 cm in maximum height and 15 cm in diameter at its widest point. General used condition, with many signs of age, traces of wear, small chips on the body, neck/spout, and base, as well as some scratches; overall a relatively harmonious piece corresponding to its age. The thumbprint of the potter is noted in relief on the base, an additional witness to its handmade production. Weighs approximately 900 g.
