The manadaly pendant by sigvard bernadotte and acton bjørn for nordisk solar is an elegant example of early modernist lighting. The lamp is characterized by clean lines and quality materials. The superellipse shape of the opal glass shade is reminiscent of other danish design icons, including the work of piet hein. But there's more to the story than a brilliant lamp. Sigvard bernadotte was born prince of sweden, in line for the throne as king. However, bernadotte had humbler intentions. After marrying a commoner, bernadotte continued a successful career as an industrial designer, designing kitchenware, cutlery, lamps, and even working as an assistant director on the 1937 hollywood film, the princess of zenda. What a life! This lamp is in good condition, with a subtle patina on the brass. If preferred, this patina can be simply be polished to a sparkling state. This lamp takes 100w max e27 light bulb and features and is fitted with 2 meters of electrical cord ready to be installed. Ceiling cover sold separately. Height: 30 centimeters. Width: 15 centimeters. Shipped from copenhagen, denmark in triple-ply corrugated cardboard box for extra security. I would gladly combine items to save on shipping.
