We are delighted to offer for sale this magnificent serpentine front bookcase by Gardner & Son, dating from around 1840, made of flame mahogany from Glasgow, with finely carved claw and ball feet. A very attractive and well-crafted piece, reflecting the late Georgian style. Cleaned, waxed, and polished, it is in good period condition. Dimensions: Height: 122 cm, Width: 152 cm, Depth: 42.5 cm (measurements taken at the widest point). A. Gardner & Son, cabinetmakers based in Glasgow, produced very high-quality antique furniture primarily in mahogany and walnut, sometimes adorned with fine inlays. The company was founded in 1803 and has been active for over 150 years. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon.
