Very beautiful wall vase in ceramic signed Liévois on the back. An original piece due to its organic shape and especially its magnificent enamel work: the upper part is a very dark brown/black and the lower part is a speckled blue-grey, with many small effects of texture and firing. The enamel is smooth to the touch, despite the many small reliefs that are barely perceptible under the fingers. The vase is designed to be hung on the wall and has its fixing hole on the back. Dimensions: • Height: approximately 26 cm. • Width: approximately 23 cm. • Weight: approximately 1.160 kg. Condition: good overall condition considering its artisanal nature and age. To be noted transparently: • a very fine crack in the enamel at the neck, which does not seem to affect the clay (no visible crack on the back); • a few small surface irregularities related to the manufacturing process, near the suspension hole, visible in the photos. These small defects are well photographed and do not detract from the decorative charm of the piece. A beautiful signed ceramic, ideal for a contemporary, natural, or vintage interior, and particularly interesting for enthusiasts of French artisanal ceramics. Matthieu Liévois is a French potter-ceramicist, based in Brittany since 1989. He is notably recognised for his research work on high-temperature glazes and crystallisation glazes. In 2009, he founded the professional ceramic school Créamik in Séné, in Morbihan.
