This vintage modular Camaleonda Sofa is a fine example of Italian modernist design from the 1970s. Designed by Mario Bellini, the piece embodies the spirit of mid-century innovation, blending sculptural form with plush comfort. This sofa comes from 1972 and is the first addition of B&B series (earlier it was manuafactured as C&B ) and was fully renovated. The new fabric is an Italian fully natural linen from L’Interno by Franco Fabbri. The name “Camaleonda” combines two Italian words: “camaleonte” (chameleon) and “onda” (wave), perfectly describing its adaptable modular structure and flowing silhouette. The original manufacturer’s BB Italia label remains beneath the sofa, attesting to its provenance and authenticity. The Camaleonda sofa is characterized by its oversized, rounded cushions and the signature capitonné tufting, a technique achieved with an ingenious system of hooks, cables, and rings. This design not only adds visual depth and texture but also makes the sofa uniquely modular. The modules can be arranged freely or connected for customization to suit any space or mood. Dimensions: 2x module H: 70/ W: 100/ D: 95 cm. Seat height 40 cm. Armrest height 54 cm. Clearance 7 cm. The sofa is in excellent condition. The upholstery has been fully renewed, and the internal structure has been carefully inspected to ensure comfort and durability. Minor, age-appropriate signs of use, on the bottom affirm the authenticity and charm of this iconic piece.
