The Amanta sofa, designed by Mario Bellini for B&B Italia around 1970, is an iconic modular seating system that helped define modern Italian industrial design. Composed of moulded shell bases and separate upholstered elements, it introduced a flexible system that can be freely configured into different seating arrangements. Its low geometric shape and soft upholstery reflect a balance between architectural clarity and comfort. During subsequent restorations, all components were rearranged, renewing the original design while preserving its structure and modular character.
