Small cache-pot, key holder or other in fine glazed earthenware, made between 1890-1920, decorated with a floral frieze printed in blue on an ivory background. The glaze features an elegant, old crackle, characteristic of productions from this period. Its simple silhouette is highlighted by two moulded side handles and a slight projection at the base. The delicate and continuous decoration evokes the utilitarian earthenware of the Belle Époque intended for bourgeois interiors and country houses. Originally designed as a cache-pot or planter for small plants, this object can today serve multiple decorative purposes: key holder, pencil pot, storage for brushes, small cache-pot for succulents, dried floral arrangement, or as a decorative item on a shelf, console, or in a bathroom. The homogeneous crackle of the glaze fully contributes to the charm of this antique piece. No manufacturer's mark is visible on the base. Dimensions. Diameter: 13 cm. Height: 7.5 cm. In good condition with an old patina and signs of use consistent with its age.
