Superb complete 1970s desk set, consisting of three pieces made from genuine alabaster, hand-carved in Italy. This set features a deep emerald green lacquer finish, elegantly mimicking the veining of malachite. Blending Brutalist and Hollywood Regency styles, these pieces add a sophisticated and organic touch to your decor. The set includes: A large Brutalist ashtray (approx. 26 cm diameter): Outer edges with a "raw rock" appearance, polished mirror centre. It bears the original label "Genuine Alabaster Hand Carved Italy". A Blitz table lighter: Fluted alabaster base. The gold metal mechanism is functional: it produces a lovely spark (please provide a standard gas refill). A matching box: Ideal for jewellery or accessories. The frame and hinge are made of chiselled gold resin, typical of the era. Condition: Overall lovely vintage condition. The lacquer is vibrant and well-preserved. For complete transparency: there are a few slight varnish skips on the edges and a small discreet chip on one corner of the box lid (visible in the detail photos). The inside of the box is perfectly clean.
