Living room table in cherry and walnut, Restoration style – late 19th century

Elegant Restoration-style table, made in the 19th century, in walnut and cherry wood. Its top with cut corners features an ingenious tilting system. It is decorated with a finely crafted marquetry: at the centre, an antique chariot drawn by horses is surrounded by delicately worked geometric friezes. This decoration, inspired by neoclassical imagery, celebrates the splendours of antiquity while reflecting the refined taste of the era. The turned baluster leg rests on a quadruped base with curved feet, ensuring perfect stability and a harmonious silhouette. The warm patina, the subtle contrast between the woods, and the quality of craftsmanship make this guéridon a decorative and historical piece, ideal for enriching a classic interior or a collection dedicated to the decorative arts of the 19th century. Period: Late 19th century. Excellent condition after restoration in our cabinetmaking workshop.
