Wicker and woven rattan canapé-bench – Early 20th century

Elegant early 20th-century bench made of wicker and woven rattan, originating from a Biarritz winter garden. Beautiful quality of weaving and harmoniously curved lines. The enveloping backrest in the shape of a basket extends into armrests with large scrolls. The openwork decoration is enhanced by delicate interlaced friezes highlighting the backrest and the lower belt. The reinforced leg is wrapped and supported at the front by a fifth central leg, typical of the careful craftsmanship of the Belle Époque. The old patina shows slight signs of use, witnesses to its history, which enhance its charm. Dimensions: 146 cm long - 67 cm deep - 91 cm high - 43 cm seat height.
