This charming children's chair made of light varnished wood, with its lovely "compass" legs and curved backrest, dates from the 1950s or 60s. It has likely seen several generations of children, as evidenced by the marks of time and the patina of use it does not hide. It has just had a little makeover to embark on a new life: I repainted the front of the backrest in a soft and trendy colour (Urban Green, rated A+ for emissions). I also applied a thin layer of varnish on the seat to protect it for its new life. It therefore retains the patina of its previous lives, with small various stains and a slight shine (softened, no risk of splinters) on the end of one of the armrests. The legs move very slightly, but with the metal reinforcements underneath, which seem to be original, its sturdiness is not compromised. It measures 30 cm in seat height, 57 cm in back height, 41 cm in maximum width, and approximately 40 cm in maximum depth. The maximum height at the armrests is 44 cm (at the front as they are slightly inclined backwards). I found it alongside a small desk that you will also find for sale here. However, although their styles match perfectly, I am not certain they were "born" together, as the armrests of the chair do not fit under the desk, meaning the child cannot bring the chair "completely" close to the desk. I am therefore offering them separately today.
