Restored Victorian sofa in leather with claw feet and feather cushions.

We are delighted to present this magnificent late Victorian club sofa, fully restored with claw and ball feet in the Thomas Chippendale style. A truly remarkable find, I have only seen one or two early club sofas with Chippendale-style feet and never in this condition. The sofa includes three very comfortable cushions filled with new feathers, and the base is a traditional coil spring structure, with each vertical spring hand-tied eight ways to ensure stability. The leather is made from 100% premium English cowhide, stripped down to the raw hide and then hand-dyed six times to achieve this superb vintage cigar brown colour. In summary, it is a very aesthetic, rare piece that will add style, charm, and character to any interior. Dimensions: Height 97cm, Width 202cm, Depth 93cm (from the wall to the front panel of the sofa), 90.5cm to the front of the cushion, Seat height 64cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. This item is available for collection from our warehouses in Wimbledon. Please note that original antique items like leather seating will always have a natural patina with cracks, creases, and wear. We recommend regular polishing to prevent moisture loss. Hand-dyed leather is not recommended for prolonged exposure to direct sunlight as it may dry out and discolour.
