Very nice studio background of the painter Henry Sené (1889-1961), consisting of: 1/ An oil on wood measuring 18 X 14 cm, signed, depicting horses. 2/ An oil on panel measuring 18 X 13 cm, signed, dated 1929, depicting a mountain landscape. 3/ An oil on cardboard measuring 24 X 16 cm, signed, depicting a shepherd and his flock. 4/ An oil on canvas measuring 18 X 13 cm, unsigned, depicting a flock by the sea. 5/ An oil on panel (worn) measuring 13 X 14 cm, unsigned, depicting a mouse. 6/ A pencil drawing measuring 13 X 11 cm, signed, with the mention "In honour of the horse and its faithful interpreter Henry Sené", depicting a horse. The whole is very charming, the artist's hand is spontaneous and of great accuracy. Each work can be framed separately. A true favourite! "Recognised as an orientalist and animal painter, Sené favours the world of reality, relying on the 'modern vision' imposed by the Impressionists. Like them, he frees himself from ancestral pictorial canons to invent a new pictorial technique that responds to the desire to prioritise in painting the 'instantaneous impression' over the construction of the mind.".
