Authentic Iranian carpet - Ghoum extra 100% silk, signed by Bahrami, entirely hand-knotted. Signed by the master weaver "Bahrami" in his cartouche, it comes with the original certificate of authenticity and the invoice, which will be provided with the carpet. Purchased in 2009 at the Atelier du Tapis in Tehran, 7 Franklin Street, Paris for the sum of €18,000. Ghom carpets are among the most impressive and sought-after examples of Persian craftsmanship worldwide. In Qom (a city in Iran), all carpets are made using the finest raw materials. Qom silk is one of the highest quality in the world. The carpet is in very good condition and of large size. The colour shades are incredible, and the numerous floral patterns make it an exceptional piece. The back of the carpet has been photographed so you can see the incredible knot work: over 1,000,000 knots per square metre. Dimensions: 200 x 210 cm including the fringes. There are some stains in places (see all photos) without detracting from the quality of this unique piece. No tears or holes.
