Chinese Bidjar carpet 330 cm x 256 cm

Superb large Chinese rug, Chino Bidjar with long, fine cream fringes. Entirely hand-knotted. Sold with its certificate of authenticity dated 1991, signed and sealed with wax by Mr Alexandre Noël, judicial expert. Although the dimensions stated on the certificate are 240 cm X 258 cm, the exact dimensions are 256 cm X 330 cm. In very good condition, it is generally very clean, with very few stains. No discolouration, the colours are vibrant. There are a few missing fringes (see photos). No holes or tears. Bidjar rugs are robust and sturdy. Carefully crafted in workshops in a small Kurdish town located in western Iran, Bidjar rugs are known for their extremely long lifespan. The knotting technique used is the Turkish knot.
