2 cups & milk jug Saint-Jean-de-Bretagne. 1951: inauguration of the new factory. The local clay is replaced by white earthenware. The potters abandon the "stick wheel" to take up brushes. This earthenware is recognised by its decoration: geometric, rich in lines, inspired by Breton and Celtic motifs, in bright colours. Each piece is marked with the decoration number and the initials of the decorator. This production of decorated earthenware enjoys nice success under the name "St-Jean-de-Bretagne". It employed up to 80 people before closing permanently in 1989 due to a fire. The set is in very good condition, with 1 chip of enamel underneath a saucer.
