Ceramic milk jug by artisan Pierre Tézière, Beceleuf.

Here is a charming little jug, probably a milk jug, made of glazed ceramic in a lovely speckled grey colour and almost black on the inside. Its shape is elegant and practical, with a wide opening that makes it easy to clean. It is the result of beautiful artisanal work by Pierre Tézière, a potter from Béceleuf in the Deux-Sèvres until around the late 90s. It is signed underneath in relief by hand and also bears the mention of the place, Béceleuf. I was able to identify it easily this time, as I have another jug from the same potter (also for sale here) for which I had to conduct some research. This milk jug is in generally good condition, with no cracks, but it has a small chip on the edge of the opening, not excessively visible as the colour of the clay used, beneath the glaze, is quite dark. It measures 9 cm in maximum height (at the handle), 13 cm in maximum width from the handle to the belly, and approximately 9.5 cm in maximum diameter.
