A two-layer glass bonbonniere from the 1930s, most likely produced in Germany, harmoniously combines deeply saturated ruby red glass with the geometric precision of the Art Deco era. Semi-transparent oval cuts arranged rhythmically around the vessel allow light to pass through, giving the whole a sense of lightness and depth. The glass bowl is smooth, heavy, and finished to a high gloss, highlighting the craftsmanship. The lid is made of brass, formed into a stepped structure with concentric rings gradually leading to a small, faceted handle. The brass reveals an authentic, golden hue with a noble patina, with minor, age-typical abrasions. The interior of the bonbonniere and the construction of the lid show solidity and attention to detail, characteristic of luxurious yet functional Art Deco design. Condition is very good: the glass is free from cracks and chips, and the brass has natural aging throughout. This bonbonniere evokes the atmosphere of the 1930s, when geometric order and the search for harmony permeated every detail of daily life. The red glass speaks of the era's bold use of colour, and the rhythmically arranged cuts reflect a love for repetitive motifs and rhythm—key to Art Deco. The brass lid, silvery-gold and slightly darkened by time, carries a trace of old salons: an echo of social gatherings and illuminated evening scenes at tables set with fine accessories. The vessel can be a striking accent on a marble console or a lacquered buffet section, where the play of light on the glass surface comes to the fore. It can be paired with clear glass or minimalist ceramics to emphasise the geometric discipline of Art Deco. It works well in arrangements inspired by modernism, eclectic collector's sets, or classic interiors with gold accents and saturated colours, where the cut glass gains depth and the patinated brass highlights the nostalgia of the era.
